The Ear Force X31 is our third age group of wireless headsets for the XBOX 360. Like the X3, the X31 combines XBOX live chat with wireless game sound so you can hear the game sound and the voices of other players in the headset. In other words, it replaces your XBOX raconteur headset and external speakers. By examination the XBOX Live chat in the center of your head rather than in one ear, you can communicate better online. By eliminating speakers you can turn up the game lacking disturbing others. And, by having the game sound right on top of your ears, you can hear even the softest sound cues that are impossible to hear with speakers. For example, you can hear when someone is peacefully sneaking up on you and react quicker. That means you’ll have a perfectly immersive gaming experience while becoming a better player. Just like the X3, the X31 includes a headset and small transmitter. As you can see, the colors have been changed so it’s simple to see it’s a new model. What is different, but, is that we made the headset more comfortable by increasing the size of the ear cups so they sit around your ears rather than on top of them. We also replaced the vinyl ear cushions with these soft, fabric mesh cushions that let your ears breathe. The most significant enhancement is that the X31 uses digital 2.4 Giga Hertz Radio Frequency wireless equipment. This new digital RF equipment is a huge enhancement over analog IR because it delivers CD-quality sound with no social class hiss, no interference from plasma TV screens and no line of sight restrictions between the transmitter and headset. Sound quality is improved with new 40mm speakers that use the same design as our high-quality X41 50mm speakers for better frequency response and improved clarity in the game sound. Inside the headset is a digital signal processor for bass boost and stereo expander things, which can be turned on by pressing this button. This makes the expander more dramatic than the X3.

Ok first of all, to all those who are trying to scare off potential buyers with the "popping/ crackling" noise, you don't know how to read directions. The popping noise isn't a problem if you know where to correctly place your earphone equipment. These headphones offer quality you can't get with most t.vs. I can hear footsteps of the enemy as they try to sneak up on me, gunshots off in the space, the action sounds like its right there.
The headphones are a comfortable fit with a decent mic. I can whisper into the mic and my friends can hear me no problem. This is an brilliant alternative for gaming at night. I highly recommend this to any person who wants to hear all, counting the chat of your friends or foe. With chat boost, chat is not drowned out with explosions.
I am consciously keeping this review small because I saw so many excellent reviews. I was worried about buying this because of the "noise popping" comments, and I am writing this to clear any concerns potential buyers may have. I have a wireless internet router in the same room as my gaming system and headphones. As long as you READ THE Directions about placement, you can game effortlessly lacking any distractions. Haven't had any problem at all with these headphones. Best belt buy I've made. |

These headphones are incredible for fps games. I use them for call of duty 4 and world at war and they allow you to hear all in a new way. Guns sound cooler, foot steps are louder, shells rock your head. When using the bass boost and stereo expander settings together you can detect dead silence from a excellent space away. This really helps to get the upper hand on those sneaky small buggers. I recommend this if you have $100 to drop but if u cant just go for the X1's.
Hope this helps and pleased gaming!

I got this item the other day and I must say that after trying other headsets, this is the best one that I have used. It offers fantastic sound quality and with the adjustable chat volume you dont lose anything that your friends say to you, even when the game volume is turned up loud. I recomend this to anyone looking for a fantastic xbox headset.
It also works fantastic if you are surveillance a movie on netflix through your xbox and dont want to disturb others in the house. |

| These X31's are awe-inspiring! I have the X3 and this is a fantastic upgrade from that, well worth the money. Sound is crystal clear and now you dont have to be in line of sight with the transmitter to hear game sound. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to make to much noise at night, or someone who listens to music while gaming. I only wish they made the headset rechargeable so you wouldn't need to buy batteries at all :P |

I have been looking for an enhanced headset for a while now. This is due to my microsoft mic, it is junk i burned through my first one in eight months then the next in less than a month, so on xbox live all the talk was about turtle beaches. So i started looking into all of them x31's x41's and x1's, also i looked at tritton headsets, which were not well known but had execellent reviews across the board on all models. I am not the kind who has the money to buy a 300 dollar astro and none of tritton's headsets are wireless. The x41 seemed unecessary because they didnt have much more than the x31's. Alot of people complained of xbox live chat echo, its non existant people that write some of these reviews have no clue what there talking about, one its wireless you can not have ten items that are wireless right next to the headset your just asking for wireless interference! Bottom line i got the headset... ( if you want this headset quick get one day shipping i got mine 16 hours after i ordered it i live in new york it was shipped from arizona, and i only paid seven extra bucks.
Pros: brilliant sound quality
Microphone is flexible and is a excellent length
Unbelievably fantastic comfortability
Price (Your paying 89 dollars for what seems to me a 200-300 dollar headset)
Simple setup i know not anything about this stuff it took me approx. 2 synopsis.
Cons: None at all, it seems high quality so i should have no problems in the future.
If you havent had an enhanced headset like this it will doubtless take you a while to get use to it.
